INRODUCTION :

Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS), affiliated to International Society for Soil Mechanics & Foundation Engineering was founded in 1948 has completed 50 years and celebrated Golden Jubilee in 1998. Various Chapters throughout the Country have organized a series of activities in this connection in promote the main objectives of the Society.

Indore Chapter of IGS since its inception in April'1993 has been the source of dissemination of Geotechnical information and know-how in and around Indore, by way of organizing large number of Conferences, Seminars, Workshop and Special lectures for the public in general and its members in particular. There are 343 Life members of this Local Chapter.

 INDORE CHAPTER was awarded the Best Chapter Award in 1998 & 2002 among 26 chapter of IGS all over the country'
